the programs of vox suavis highlight the diversity the iberian peninsula's traditional music. the music focusses on the repertoire that was collected in the first half of the 20th century by various ethnomusicologists. in addition, the program presents a sephardic repertoire still alive in jewish communities in northern morocco, turkey and greece.

the ensemble researches documents and recordings of the 19th and 20th centuries, searching for a common ground with their older repertoire. the group juxtaposes the newer music with medieval music of the 13th century, such as cantigas de alfonso x the wise and the galico-portuguese cantigas de amigo.
