the music focusses on the repertoire that was collected in the first half of the 20th century by various ethnomusicologists.
in addition, the program presents a sephardic repertoire still alive in jewish communities in
northern morocco, turkey and greece.
the ensemble researches documents and recordings of the 19th and 20th centuries, searching for a common ground
with their older repertoire. the group juxtaposes the newer music with medieval music of the 13th century,
such as cantigas de alfonso x the wise and the galico-portuguese cantigas de amigo.
